A couple of months ago a came across an article in Mother Earth Living magazine that inspired me to add sourdough culture to my list. Making your own sourdough starter is so much easier than it sounds and nothing tastes better than a fresh loaf or homemade sourdough bread, straight from the oven.
Here are some mini reviews of the books I was able to finish in January.
One thing I started doing was using the scraps from our veggies to make homemade vegetable broth. Vegetable broth is packed full of minerals and nutrients and acts as the base for soups, stews, and sauces.

After learning about a curse that threatens the life of the man she loves, she races to solve a mystery that generations of women before her have failed to resolve.
To help keep my skin moisturized and exfoliated I like to make simple homemade sugar scrubs that are inspired by the seasons. The combination of clove and orange is the perfect winter scent and it reminds me of the poor man’s pomander. It is so comforting and uplifting and provides immune support, which is just what we need during these deep winter days.
I have a goal of reading 100 books this year, so to hold myself accountable I wanted to start sharing my monthly reading lists. Each month I will share at least eight of the books that I plan on reading that month.
One goal I have this year is to read more books that are outside of my comfort zone. I typically stick to the same genres, so I thought I would tap into my competitive side and try out a reading challenge to encourage myself to read books that I might usually overlook.
