Have you guys ever had flavored butter? I learned how to make my own a couple weeks ago and I have been planning different butter recipes in my head for days. Since we are headed into BBQ season, I decided it was the perfect time try out this BBQ inspired whiskey butter.

Spicy Honey Whiskey Butter
1/2 cup Honey Whiskey
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed red-pepper flakes
1 clove garlic, minced
1\4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1. In a small saucepan, combine the whiskey, sugar, red pepper flakes, and salt. Bring to a simmer and cook until it reduces by half, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
2. In a food processor, combine the garlic, cooled whiskey mixture, and butter until completely combined, about 30 seconds.
3. Serve softened or chilled.
This butter goes great on toast. You can also try it on grilled corn or a baked potato.
To store, you can keep it in a dish with a lid or wrap it into a log. To form a log, place the butter in the center of a sheet of plastic wrap. Roll up the plastic wrap and form it into a log shape. Store in the fridge.
